WOMEN'S HEALTH: FASHION IN PREGNANCY-What's The Perfect Fit?

What about "Fashion in Pregnancy"? Women who are currently pregnant or have been pregnant before, know that during the pregnancy, fashion is a very important consideration. Old cloths begin to lose fitting and if adequate plans are not made, fathers/expectant fathers can testify of the palpable frustration felt by their spouses, especially those who work in corporate environments. Don't ask how I know 😃😉.

In this special post, instead of discussing diseaseS, I am asking to not only know what the perfect fit is but also the perfect material. Do you prefer to keep the gowns short and flexible or do you love a corporate, below knee fit? Cotton or wool? What's your fashion story in pregnancy?

This also goes for ladies who plan to ever get pregnant. What would you feel most comfortable wearing, during your pregnancy?   Remember, "Great Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not just the absence of disease or physical infirmity". What doth it profit a pregnant woman to be eternally sad every time she opens her wardrobe????

  1. Hahahahahaahha, our midwives have a major role to play here. Most pregnant women doesn't listen to anyone else except the midwife

  2. For me I find that period very uncomfortable in my old cloths. I preference loose fitting cloths with chiffon or cotton especially during late pregnancy. Long flowing gowns are very comfortable for moving about

  3. Hmmmm! Fashion in pregnancy, quite a juicy topic. You know thats when every woman feels the need to be pretty, especially with the bloated body and nose...hahahhahahahaha. Fashion in pregnancy for me is anything free, short and hot and most of all comfortable to the skin.cotton fabrics my best option ,really cool on the skin.wool can be itchy sometimes.

  4. Fashion in pregnancy? Comfort first. Clothes made of cotton fabric with a loose or,at most, a snug fit. In early pregnancy, if the occasion demands high heels, a wedge sole with a gentle slope will do. But as the pregnancy advances, I prefer to be closer to the earth with cute flats.

  5. In as much as women like looking fashionable at all times and appearances matter to us, I would want to believe comfort matters most to most women. Of course there would still be the ones who squeeze themselves into uncomfortable clothings and shoes.
Pregnant women however don't have to look 'mary-amakaish', as there are trendy maternity wears and jeans.

  8. Comfort before fashion, but a pregnant lady has to make a little extra effort to look nice as the swollen nose and all are not especially flattering.

  11. I wish all the wears are clip ons or strap on especially underwears.....At the later stages of pregnancy, comort is key and the only way is to get cloths that fit freely as the pregnancy advances.

  12. Really for a pregnant woman me thinks for clothing, cotton should be top on the list of materials, bright colours and flowery patterns I think would do. I for one feel there should still be a sexy edge to it, maybe gowns a little above the knee, free at the abs region. Same rule I think should apply to the tops. But for lovers of denim trousers, well, well nothing precludes a clothing line just for denim casuals for pregnant women after all if we can have lines dedicated to autumn wears, winter wears etc, what stops one for pregnancy which also is a season, so that our ladies can stop tearing their pre pregnant denim trousers

  13. Whaoo, nice one dr K.
Fashion in pregnancy seems to be a rising trend amongst our women and they are taking it to another level. From bum shorts to short gowns and free flowing gowns, these are flaunted in the per semister pics. Its now a norm to drag hubby once or twice per semester to a studio where they put on the above wears and take shots, since d men don't want to join them in the ante natal clinic, the studio shots are super compulsory.
These sexy super hot pics, often displaying the protruding abdomen with hubby either holding or kissing it, are put on display for public view at the end of the pregnancy, often telling the story of the pregnancy progression. In all i give it to women, they sure know how to make the best out of everything.

  14. Pregnancy should not be an excuse for a lady to look haggard and dirty...she should put in an extra effort to be smart and inviting for her hubby/baby daddy....well what do i know???...#NeitherMarriedOrPregnant.

  15. Really??? Are my reading ladies talking of shot dresses in pregnancy? I wish but right now,my heavily pregnant abdomen doesn't seem to be tolerating any outfit that is not flowing bogusly/free. I sha squeeze into my corporate cloths.

  16. Having the privilege of nurturing a growing fetus for 9 months can be an exciting experience if you make up your mind to have one. Therefore,I'd do anything possible to eliminate every form of discomfort.....
    Some of the things that'd make up my "Preggy wardrobe";
Nice fitting tops, free around my tummy, with a pair or two of maternity jeans, Brightly coloured(helps with ur mood ) maternity gowns, and a pair of sandals/flat shoes for my last trimester..
